THE ALLEN EXPLORATION FLEET
For the purpose of exploration and adventure, Carl Allen has assembled a fleet that includes a 164-foot Westport, GIGI, the 183-foot Damen, AXIS, an 80-foot Viking, FRIGATE, a Triton submarine, a Citation X+ jet, an Icon A5 amphibious plane, and many more support vessels and tools.
M/Y GIGI
The 49.99m/164' motor yacht 'Gigi' was built by Westport Yachts in the United States at their Westport, WA shipyard. Her interior is styled by design house Donald Starkey and she was delivered to her owner in January 2010. This luxury vessel serves as home base for most of Allen Exploration's exploration efforts.
Built with a GRP hull and GRP superstructure, with teak decks, she benefits from a semi-displacement hull to provide exceptional seakeeping and impressive speeds. Powered by twin diesel MTU (16V 4000 M90) 16-cylinder 3,650hp engines running at 2100rpm, she comfortably cruises at 20 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 23 knots with a range of up to 3,700 nautical miles from her 75,708 litre fuel tanks at 12 knots. An advanced stabilisation system on board promises exceptional comfort levels at anchor or on any voyage.
AXIS
At an overall length of 55.3m/183', AXIS is the workhorse of the Allen Exploration Fleet. Rugged and versitile, this Damen-built vessel weighs in at 465 tons and carries with it a range of 5,000 nautical miles.
Support vessel AXIS is a key tool to ocean discovery and environmental projects in collaboration with education facilities and local communities. AXIS carries onboard a Triton submersible, numerous support watercraft, and an Icon A5 aircraft.
TRITON SUBMERSIBLE
The iconic TRITON 3300/3 is Allen Exploration's tool for exploring the deep. Capable of diving to depths of 3,280 ft (1,000 m) while comfortably seating a pilot and two passengers, Triton is invaluable for it's ability to go where few have ever gone. Its cavernous interior, generous payload and modular expandability are an incredible resource for the AllenX fleet. Triton is housed on AXIS and ready to be deployed whenever called upon.
FRIGATE
Leading the charge of the Allen Exploration Fleet is Frigate. Built by Viking, Frigate boasts an overall length of 80' with a 2,600 gal. fuel capacity. Powered with tier 3 MTU Series 2000 V16 M96L engines each developing 2,635 MHP, Frigate boasts a top speed in excess of 40 knots with an effortless high 30 knot cruise.
ICON A5
The ICON A5 is Allen Exploration's amphibious light-sport aircraft designed and produced by ICON Aircraft. Thanks to it's size and nimbleness, Icon can easily be stored on AXIS. With a range of 345 miles and weighing in at a slight 1,080 pounds, Icon is a perfect tool for short expedition flights.
